This session is designed to help teachers who have participated or are currently participating in the reading academies apply what they have learned about phonological awareness. During this session, participants will explore the impact of phonological awareness on students' reading skills. They will cover research-based best practices in reading and clarify the distinctions between phonological awareness, phonemic awareness, and phonics, as well as how and when to teach these skills. Participants can participate in hands-on activities related to the content they have learned or are currently learning about the science of teaching reading and research-based instructional best practices. Additionally, participants earn # CPE hour(s).
