Mini-lessons serve as a link between prior experience and a student's ability to apply knowledge and skills independently. This session will feature a mini-lesson structure with four parts: connection, explicit teaching, student practice, and a link to independent application of skills. Participants in this one-hour Zoom session will experience and explore mini-lessons so that they will be able to design an effective secondary ELAR mini-lesson and deliver reading/writing connections to students in grades 6-12.
