Providing meaningful access to literature for students with sensory impairments or who are at a sensorimotor level of development can be challenging. In this training, participants will discuss how to adapt by providing additional tactile, visual, or auditory stimuli to support comprehension of age appropriate texts. Each attendee will have an opportunity to start a sensory literacy box library by creating a kit containing the book and supporting sensory materials that can be taken to use in instructional literacy activities with the students in their classroom.
