Helping students manage their intense emotions is one of the most difficult aspects of educating gifted children. Through independent exploration of the Christine Fonseca book Emotional Intensity in Gifted Students: Helping Kids Cope With Explosive Feelings, teachers will better understand the intense emotions many of their students feel, and will be better equipped to help them understand, navigate, and control these emotions.
This session is an asynchronous learning opportunity. Content will be shared via Google site and an application of learning and reflection will be submitted for credit. Submissions will be due no later than midnight on Friday, December 16, 2022, 2022 Teachers will need to acquire a copy of the book, Emotional Intensity in Gifted Students: Helping Kids Cope With Explosive Feelings, by Christine Fonseca. Credit will not be granted until a week after the final due date of the course.
