Every Move Counts
Clicks & Chats: Sensory-Based Approach Communication & Assistive Technology

Every Move Counts

Important Session Information:

This series of four, half-day workshops present non-traditional assessment and intervention strategies appropriate for the development of communication in individuals having complex access needs, significant cognitive disabilities and/or autism. Information is relevant to the needs of those individuals who are currently unable to communicate their wants and needs spontaneously in their environment, regardless of age or severity of physical and/or cognitive differences. Techniques incorporate current research in the areas of communication, education, and sensory integration.

The training is presented over 4 sessions of 3 hours + 30 min each.

Session 1: Jan 10  Research and Theory

Session 2: Jan 31  Assessment

Session 3: Feb 21   Implementation of Counts

Session 4:  Mar 21   Implementation of Clicks and Chats

Participants should register with at least 1 other educator in other disciplines (i.e., TVI, PT, OT SLP, O&M, classroom teacher, etc.) from their LEA to make a team of 2+. Participant teams should select a student to apply what they learn from each session and bring their experiences and questions to the subsequent session
