Course Format:
This is an asynchronous, self-paced offering. There will
not be any synchronous meetings through Zoom or other platforms. The dates and times listed mark the opening and closing
window of the course timeframe. After registering, participants will receive an
automated email with a link to a Google site that houses all course
materials.
Course Content:
Not only do the ELAR TEKS embody the
interconnected nature of listening, speaking, reading, writing, and thinking,
but also the ELAR TEKS should be bundled to support students’ success with
complex texts in various genres. In this asynchronous session, participants
will experience and evaluate an intentionally interconnected lesson routine for
secondary ELAR students. To earn 1 credit hour, participants will watch about
21 minutes across 5 videos, post a revised quickwrite response, and submit
reflections in a credit request Google form. Participants will have the option
to complete a lesson design for an additional 2 hours of credit.
Deadline for Submitting Work: Participants must complete and submit required work by the course close on Nov. 18, 2022. A Region 10 consultant will review all submitted work, and credit will be awarded upon successful completion and review. It may take a week after the course closes for certificates to be awarded.
