Cultivating Foundational Skills in the Secondary Classroom Part 1




Region 10 ELAR offerings promote integrated reading, writing, listening, speaking, and thinking for TEKS-based instruction utilizing authentic reading and reflective writing.

**Please note, this learning experience is a virtual event and will not be hosted at a physical site.**

In this two-part session, we will explore the process most readers go through to become proficient or skilled readers.  We will discuss strategies to help fill in some of the gaps created by a lack of foundational skills in our secondary students. Part 1 will focus on how most readers learn to read and how to identify specific areas of need.

There are two price tiers for this event:

  1. Members of the Region 10 Instructional Practices Package receive free registration.
  2. R10 teachers and Out of Region teachers who are not members of the Region 10 Instructional Practices Package pay $100.00.
