Mental Health Training and Awareness
Texas Mental Health Series: Early Mental Health Prevention and Intervention

Mental health professionals understand the biological, cultural, developmental, and social influences on mental and behavioral health, its impacts on learning, and evidence-based strategies to promote social–emotional functioning. Mental Health Training & Awareness supports school staff by increasing awareness and knowledge of mental health and co-occurring disorders as well as the presenting symptoms that affect an individual’s ability to thrive.

Important Session Information:

It can be very challenging to recognize the difference between an individual appropriately struggling with something, and an individual in need of mental health intervention. Come and learn warning signs to look for, as well as 'mental health first aid' that can be rendered by anyone, and what we know about prevention efforts that actually work!
