The Healing Power of Nature
Asynchronous, The Dallas Arboretum

The current public health crisis with regard to COVID-19 is disruptive not only to students' learning but to their emotional health. As life with our new "normal" continues, what must teachers know and be able to do to help support our students and the stress and trauma they have faced over the past several months? This session will explore what teachers need to know about the emotional effects of trauma on our students, examine how educators can support their students, how nature and mindfulness can help relieve stress, and how giftedness affects students' social and emotional needs.
