Learning to talk and understand spoken language is a natural process; however, research supports the fact that learning to read is not. Although learning to read appears to be effortless for some, many struggle to read words and/or comprehend text. In this session, participants will gain an understanding of the science behind teaching students to read.
This a self-paced course that begins on June 28, 2021 and ends on July 9, 2021. To participate in this course and earn credit, you must be registered through Region 10 ESC. Registration begins on April 22, 2021 and ends on July 6, 2021. After registering, participants will receive an email registration confirmation with a link to the Google site that houses all of the course materials. A Region 10 consultant will review all submitted work. Professional development certificates will be available after July 9th. Certificates will be issued through participant’s Region 10 user account.
There are two price tiers for this event:
- Members of the Region 10 Instructional Practices Package receive free registration.
- R10 teachers and Out of Region teachers who are not members of the Region 10 Instructional Practices Package pay $100.00.
