CPI: Crisis Prevention Institute Certification
Certification

The CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training course teaches staff decision-making skills to match the level of the response to the risk of the crisis, focusing on the least-restrictive response to ensure the Care, Welfare, Safety, and Security of those in your care. This includes recognizing the stages of an escalating crisis and learning evidence-based techniques to appropriately de-escalate.

Important Session Information:

The CPI Foundation course helps participants identify behavior that indicates an escalation toward aggressive and violent behavior to take appropriate measures to avoid, decelerate, and/or de-escalate crisis situations. The participant will be able to assess the level of risk associated with crisis behavior and make appropriate decisions related to the management of such risks. Finally, the participant will be able to use suitable and acceptable physical interventions to reduce or manage risk behavior, and identify the impact of crisis events using post-crisis responses for personal and organizational support and learning.

This class is being offered in a blended model.  The verbal portion will be completed online and the physical portion and post-test will be completed in the face-to-face training at Region 10.  There is a deadline of            April 2nd                      to register for this class.
