Artists Making a Kinder World THRIVE Lesson: Create a Garden of Peace How do gardens create places where living things – plants, insects, flowers, or even you and me – can thrive? In this workshop, participants learn about different kinds of gardens and contemplate how nature provides a place for dreaming, meditation, playing, and tending. Gardens also take a lot of commitment and attention! Participants use drawing paper and colored pencils or markers to design their ideal “Garden of Peace.” Ideas for creative extensions include creating a maypole or a peacepole. Karen Blessen, Founder and Director of 29 Pieces leads the THRIVE Lesson.
