**Please note, this learning experience is a virtual event and will not be hosted at a physical site.**
Tired of watching students read (...skim) a word problem and immediately start to solve before you've even had a chance to hand out all the papers? No matter how much we discuss the importance of THINKING about what the problem is saying, there are always those students who just pull out the numbers, choose a random operation, and solve. During this online-learning experience, we will explore storytelling techniques to promote problem-solving in the elementary math classroom. This session is designed to shift student thinking from a culture of "answer getting" to a culture of "Sense Making."
