**Please note, this learning experience is a virtual event and will not be hosted at a physical site.**
How do we teach our youngest students to put their thoughts on paper? Before they even make a mark on the page, we can help them learn to think as a writer. How? By highlighting and discussing the intentional decisions authors make, we are inviting our Kindergarten, first and second grade students to enjoy a front row seat into the thought process of a writer. Engaging in a variety of contexts such as interactive, shared and modeled writing opens the minds of young writers to the possibilities awaiting them. In this session, participants will also explore a variety of mentor texts in which teachers can expertly guide young students to think as writers.
This a self-paced course that will be open from November 9, 2020 to November 23, 2020. Registration begins on October 26, 2020 and ends on November 16, 2020. After registering, participants will receive an email with a link to the Google site that houses all of the course materials.
