Cognitive Rigor deals with complexity of concepts and types of thinking as we consider the depth and breadth of topics that should be taught as part of an educational experience. In this asynchronous course, participants will gain an increased understanding of cognitive rigor across content areas by watching a video, exploring cognitive rigor matrices and sample assignments, designing an assignment to share, and submitting reflection responses.
After registering, participants will receive an email with a link to the Google site that houses all course instructions and activities.
Participants must complete all required work by Sept. 25, 2020. A Region 10 consultant will review all submitted work. Upon successful completion and review, professional development certificates will be available by Oct. 2, 2020.
