Differentiation with the PLD

There are often gaps in learning after summer slide. This year we face the added challenge of the COVID-19 slide. How will we find and address those gaps? Performance Level Descriptors is a tool from TEA that can help. Accountability drives a greater emphasis on the test, but that doesn't mean we have to lose an engaging, high-quality learning environment. This session will utilize the Performance Level Descriptors to show the language surrounding what students can do at each performance level on STAAR. They will then be guided to explore how teachers can work with those PLDs to develop scaffolded, performance-based tasks and assessments that are differentiated, engaging, rigorous, and align with STAAR.
