You must have attended an Original, 3 day face-to-face Mathematics Achievement Academy to register for the Blended Follow-Up.
In the Mathematics Achievement Academy: Problem Solving and Discourse, Grade Kinder participants will:
- connect problem solving experiences and discourse strategies to deepen the content experienced in the original Mathematics Achievement Academy, Grade Kinder;
- explore and apply the problem-solving model found in the TEKS as a tool to help students make sense of mathematics and to help the mathematics make sense to students; and
- explore and apply mathematical language routines to equip students to communicate their mathematical understanding with clarity.
Important Session Information:
This virtual PD is a follow up to the original math academies. Course content has been modified to make it accessible during school closures. Student work samples are not a requirement during this version of the Blended Follow up.
**This is a three-part academy. Training will include an initial virtual meeting, self-paced activities, and an additional follow-up virtual meeting to meet requirements for $100 stipend.**
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
