**Please note, this learning experience is a virtual event and will not be hosted at a physical site.**
What is it like for a newcomer to be suddenly immersed in a world of English? Participants will be immersed in the world of second language learning as they experience the complexity of academic demands through instructional activities that involve listening, speaking, reading, writing and thinking. The session will be carried out in Spanish with the respective accommodations to ensure non-Spanish speakers are able to participate fully in the experience just as our EL students do in the classroom. Spanish and non-Spanish speaking participants are encouraged to attend.
This blended session will be a combination of live zoom meetings along with independent work time. Participants will be required to do 1 hour of pre-work prior to the first live zoom session. More information about the pre-work assignment will be emailed to participants the week before session starts. The session will be done over a 2 week period from June 5th to June 16th. Participants are expected to participate and fully engage in all zoom sessions in order to receive full 6 hour credit.
Zoom sessions have been scheduled for the following dates/times:
Zoom 1 June 9 2:00-3:00
Zoom 2 June 10 2:00-3:00
Zoom 3 June 16 2:00-3:00
