Teaching Reading IS Science
(K-5)

Participants will learn the science behind teaching word recognition skills along with comprehension skills to create skilled readers.

Important Session Information:

**Please note, this learning experience is a virtual event and will not be hosted at a physical site.**

Learning to talk and understand spoken language is a natural process, however research supports the fact that learning to read is not. Although learning to read appears to be effortless for some, many struggle to read words and/or comprehend text.  In this session, participants will gain an understanding of the science behind teaching students to read.

Please note: You must register for the webinar in two places:

  1. Register for the event here on the Region 10 Calendar of Events.
  2. Register for the webinar on the Zoom link.

All participants registered on the Region 10 website will receive Zoom login information prior to the webinar date.

There are two price tiers for this event:

  1. Members of the Region 10 Regional Cooperative Services receive free registration.
  2. R10 teachers and Out of Region teachers who are not members of the Region 10 Regional Cooperative Services pay $100.00.
