The 2020 MTSS Institute: The Power of Us! presents.....Breaking Down Progress Monitoring and the Data Based Individualization Connection with Dr. Jeremy Miciak/Texas Center for Learning Disabilities
Progress Monitoring is an essential component in an MTSS Framework, but is often misunderstood. Dr. Miciak will situate assessment for progress monitoring within the broader purpose of assessment in MTSS, comparing and contrasting with other assessment types including screening, diagnostic assessment, and comprehensive assessment for disability identification (Full and Individual Evaluations). Session participants will come to understand the importance of routine progress monitoring of at-risk students to facilitate valid educational decision-making. Data Based Individualization (DBI) represents a framework for decision-making around intervention intensity for individual students with persistent learning difficulties. The validity of this decision-making process relies on appropriate administration and interpretation of underlying progress monitoring data.
