This Teaching & Learning professional learning opportunity will provide content, material, and strategies to assist educators in meeting the needs of students in their district.
School districts are currently tasked with implementing Programs of Study and creating pathways to post-secondary opportunities, with special emphasis on preparing students for high-need careers within industry. As a partner with you in this process, Region 10 will be hosting a meeting highlighting two specific Programs of Study in the area of manufacturing and logistics that will support this task. Through a partnership with DCCCD, districts can now begin to offer these opportunities to their students.
Meeting Objectives:
1. Review industry data and share information on two industry certification pathways that support labor needs in the DFW area
2. Share district-level commitments and support the implementation of next steps to offer these programs of study
Wes Jurey, Immediate Past Chairman, Texas Workforce Investment Council, will lead the discussion and share the impact these two pathways have on meeting the labor demands in the region.
