Assistive Technology /Adaptive Equipment Update for Therapists

Physical and occupational therapists are considered to be the equipment experts for students who have a physical disability. Assistive technology and adaptive equipment changes rapidly, as new products become available almost every day. It is important for PTs and OTs to obtain current information about these products, user strategies, and funding sources.

Speaker: Christie Hamstra, PT, MSPT, DPT, ATP, Clinical Education Specialist.  Session presented by Motion Composites and Southwest Medical Reps. 

Specific topics include: Why Weight Matters,  Client Centered prescriptions: You say it, but are you doing it?, K0005 Funding: Ensuring Appropriate Access to Equipment, Entering the World of Power Assist for manual Wheelchairs- Who? Why? When?,  and Maximizing Propulsion Efficiency.

Note: All sessions have been approved by TPTA for PT CCUs.  Certificates for CCUs will be provided by Motion Composites not through Region 10 ESC.
