Analyzing the New ELAR TEKS for Teachers
Implications for Teachers




This Teaching & Learning professional learning opportunity will provide content, material, and strategies to assist educators in meeting the needs of students in their district.  


Important Session Information:


The seven strands of the essential knowledge and skills for English language arts and reading adopted in 2017 are intended to be integrated for instructional purposes. As teachers, participants in this session will carefully analyze the seven strands of the new ELAR TEKS, targeting academic vocabulary, academic progressions, and the interconnected nature of strands and SEs. Session activities will focus on the reading, writing, speaking, listening, and thinking connections needed in lesson design.  - Please bring an electronic device.
