Dr. Freddy Hiebert, Vocabulary Matters: Keys to Unlocking Complex Texts




This Teaching & Learning professional learning opportunity will provide content, material, and strategies to assist educators in meeting the needs of students in their district.  


Important Session Information:


There are simply too many words in written English. To successfully understand complex texts, students need to be able to generate the meanings of new words, based on their knowledge about how words work in English. Dr. Hiebert will discuss how fluency, vocabulary, and knowledge can be fostered through appropriate texts.
