A “workshop” allows a group of people to share knowledge and experiences while pursuing common work. This series of three sessions will focus on strategies to implement the workshop model in 6-12 ELAR classrooms so that students become engaged readers and writers with the ability to transfer skills across genres. In this session, participants will explore the use of readers-writers notebooks, protocols for peer collaboration, and strategies for conferring. All session activities will support the ELAR TEKS adopted in 2017. Participants should bring a charged device and a book that they
are currently reading.
