Lean how to create a walkSTEM experience for your students to learn math and science in any location! Real world STEM at its finest can be found anywhere if you take the time to look, think, and plan. This out-of the-building style session will be held in the Dallas Arts District. Participants will be taken on a guided STEM-based walking tour of the Arts District hosted by talkSTEM and its partner, the AT&T Performing Arts Center. They will also participate in a workshop using walkSTEM methodologies and learn about free resources for them and their students. You and your students will be able to Create Your Own walkSTEM Experience on your campus and elsewhere as an activity, homework assignment, or project. An optional additional 3 hours of credit will be given for designing a walkSTEM experience at the participants’ home campuses.
GT credit is available for those who work in districts in the GT co-op as well.
We will meet at 9:30 am outside the front doors of the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House in the AT&T Performing Arts Center. After the 45-60 minute walk down Flora Street and Harwood Street, we will continue the workshop in Hamon Hall at the AT&T Performing Arts Center.
