Session Description:
The Texas Kindergarten Entry Assessment System (TX-KEA) is the result of a collaborative effort between the US Department of Education, the Texas Education Agency, and the Children’s Learning Institute at UTHealth. This comprehensive, validated school readiness assessment can be reliably administered by kindergarten teachers in Texas public and charter schools. It covers multiple child development domains with intent to inform kindergarten teachers’ instruction for planning more appropriate learning opportunities and targeted interventions. TX-KEA provides two implementation options to school districts and charter schools: one-time kindergarten entry assessment and three-wave kindergarten progress monitoring tool. Join us for this interactive session to learn about the purpose of assessment, how to get started, and how to analyze data. This session includes a preview of the kindergarten resources housed on the CLI Engage platform.
