Readers-Writers Workshop for Secondary ELAR
Diversifying Texts & Differentiating Instruction

Region 10 ELAR offerings promote integrated reading, writing, listening, speaking, and thinking for TEKS-based instruction utilizing authentic reading and reflective writing.

Important Session Information:

A “workshop” allows a group of people to share knowledge and experiences while pursuing common work. This series of three sessions will focus on strategies to implement the workshop model in 6-12 ELAR classrooms so that students become engaged readers and writers with the ability to transfer skills across genres. In this session, participants will look at workshop strategies through the lens of diversity and differentiation. All session activities will support the ELAR TEKS adopted in 2017. Participants should bring a charged device and a book that they are currently reading.
