Youth Mental Health First Aid




This professional learning opportunity will provide content, material, and strategies to assist educations in meeting the needs of students in their district.

Important Session Information:


Adolescence is a peak age of onset for mental illness with half of all people who will ever have a mental illness experiencing their first episode prior to 18 years of age. Youth Mental Health First Aid will focus on how to recognize risk factors & warning signs of mental health problems within the educational setting and how to give support and help for students in our schools.  Similar to regular first aid Youth Mental Health First Aid does not prepare participants to diagnose illnesses or provide therapeutic techniques.
