Early Childhood New Teacher Academy (ECNTA) is specifically designed to meet the needs of teachers beginning their career in early childhood education (ECE) which includes teachers within their first three years in the ECE classroom. ECNTA includes five face-to-face sessions, a field trip, a classroom observation and resources teachers can use immediately in their classroom. Upon completion of the academy, participants will receive 30 hours of professional development credit (which is inclusive of 15 hours of coaching). This meets the 30 hour requirement for the high-quality teacher qualification. Best practices that promote kindergarten readiness will be addressed. Additionally, specific strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners will also be explored and discussed.
