Dyslexia Program
Handbook Overview




This Teaching & Learning professional learning opportunity will provide content, material and strategies to assist educators in meeting the needs of students in their district.  


Important Session Information:


Participants are encouraged to purchase a State Dyslexia Handbook prior to training.  They may be ordered through the Region 10 website at https://www.region10.org/programs/dyslexia-statewide/dyslexia-handbook/ 

This course offers clarification to the recent adoption of the 2018 Dyslexia Handbook.  In response to the Strategic Action Plan this detail overview will support districts in highlighting pertinent information that will directly influence practices in identification, remediation and accommodations for students with dyslexia and related disorders.  Specific areas that were either added or emphasized will be discussed in detail such as early screeners, dysgraphia, ELL students, secondary identification and students that are twice exceptional as well as comparing 504 to IDEA.

Approved for 3 hours of ALTA CEUs.
