OT PT Continuing Education Series
Knowledge Translation for School-Based Therapists: Using Evidence to Offer Best Practice

Sessions to cover various topics of Occupational and Physical Therapists working in the school setting. Specific topics will be indicated in the Subtitles of the session.

Important Session Information:

School-based therapists, like the therapists in many practice settings, may be challenged to maintain currency in the vast amount of information required for evidence-based practice.  The purpose of this course is to make peer-reviewed research findings from pertinent journals available to the school-based therapists in attendance so that they can put the knowledge into practical use.  Additionally, grey literature, non-peer reviewed information that is not produced by commercial publishers, will be identified and explored.  Information from professional organizations also will be discussed.  Dr. Lovelace-Chandler has over 15 years serving as a knowledge translator and assisting therapists in moving the latest findings and resources into their practices. Attendees will be encouraged to ask questions, identify possible knowledge gaps, and share their own best sources.
