Practicum of Entrepreneurship-Work Based Learning Teacher Training




This Teaching & Learning professional learning opportunity will provide content, material, and strategies to assist educators in meeting the needs of students in their district.


Important Session Information:


There is a NEW Course coming!  Practicum of Entrepreneurship will provide amazing opportunities for students.  Pending approval from the TEXAS SBOE, this course will be available to offer in the Fall of 2021.  Currently, the recommended educator certifications in the course reads:

An assignment for Practicum in Entrepreneurship, Grades 9-12, is allowed with any current vocational or career and technical education classroom teaching certificate specified in §233.13 of this title (relating to Career and Technical Education (Certificates not requiring experience and preparation in a skill area)) or §233.14 of this title (relating to Career and Technical Education (Certificates requiring experience and preparation in a skill area).

Required trainings, including associated costs, if applicable:

CTE teachers who do not possess a SBEC Teacher Certification in Business, Marketing or Finance shall be required to complete 6 hours of a LEA approved Entrepreneurship training, 6 hours of a LEA approved training for teachers of Entrepreneurship, and the TEA required training for all teachers of work-based learning programs.

In this professional learning workshop series, teachers learn how to integrate real-world entrepreneurship tools and strategies into existing CTE curriculum.

Teachers of any discipline can level up skills around the practice of entrepreneurship, so they can impact students with future-ready skill building.

Through the Workshop experience, participants will: 

      1. Learn the basics of (and demystify) entrepreneurship
      2. Gain skills, through practice, of an entrepreneur
      3. Learn how to incorporate these practices in existing, non-business courses of your choice
      4. Gain access to a robust toolkit of resources to use with your students.
      5. Requirements of teaching work-based learning
      6. Governing Processes and Procedures
      7. Work-Based Learning Toolkit will be provided to all registrants

Fee:

No Cost for members of the Instructional Practices, Carl Perkins SSA or Title II SSA Coop packages

$150.00 for out of region participants or non coop members
