Ethics for School Counselors: Considering Current Events and Recent Legislation in the Ethical Decision Making Process




Counselor Initiative and Student Support (CISS) is a cooperative designed to provide high-quality services, resources and training.  CISS will serve as a vital school counselor resource with opportunities to network for discussions related to best practices, cutting edge research-based programs, and the latest updates from the Texas Education Agency regarding school counselor roles and responsibilities.


Important Session Information:


How have current events and recent legislation impacted ethics? Participants will review ethical standards for school counselors and apply the STEPS Ethical Decision Making Model to current ethical dilemmas. This session will also include a legislative update and further guidance and resources for counselors related to ethics and legislation. Participants are encouraged to bring any ethical dilemmas or situations they would like to discuss during this collaborative session.
