Region 10 is excited to host Community Health Worker Instructor Training in the Summer of 2021.
This training for SBOE CTE Certified Teachers will begin online on June 1 via the Canvas LMS. The training will conclude on Monday, August 2, 2021, at the Region 10 Education Service Center at 400 E. Spring Valley Rd., Richardson, TX 75081 during a full day of face-to-face training. A Texas SBOE CTE Teacher Certification, the online component, and the face-to-face component are required for a teacher to become certified as a CHWI. Unfortunately, there are no exceptions to this requirement.
Prior to June 1, you will receive an email invitation to the email address you register with that will allow you to create your account at http://NTXPATHS.org. This will be your access point for the CHWI online training component.
During the face-to-face training on 8/2/21, we will review submission of your training certificate and application process to The Texas Department of Health & Human Services, along with the process for joining the TEA Region 10 Education Service Center CHW Curriculum Training Portal for your students. This online course will include the TEA and DSHS approved curriculum guide you will need to provide the 160-hour training to your students and certify them as a CHW. Furthermore, the Region 10 ESC will serve as your submission liaison for Student CHW Certificates of Completion and applications to TEA and DSHS for Certification as a Texas Community Health Worker.
We are thrilled to provide this opportunity for Texas High School Students.
COST for CHWI Teacher Training
