**Please note, this learning experience is a virtual event and will not be hosted at a physical site.**
Bilingual and ESL students are consistently underrepresented in GT classrooms. We will explore the need for advocacy in the referral, identification and programming process for Bilingual & ESL GT students. Participants will develop the tools to support identified and “hidden” advanced learners.
**This blended learning experience will take place over two weeks. Week one will begin with a 1 hour webinar via Zoom. After the webinar, participants will be responsible for a 2 hour work product due on Friday. Week two will follow the same webinar and work process. Participants must be present at each webinar to receive credit and will need to have access to Zoom and Google Classroom. Collaborative opportunities to discuss and process the material throughout both weeks will be available in Google Classroom.
Zoom sessions have been scheduled for the following dates/times:
Zoom 1 June 9 11:00-12:00
Zoom 2 June 16 11:00-12:00
“This professional development session is open to educators whose districts are
members of the GT cooperative and the Title III BE/ESL (English Learner Support Cooperative).
GT hours will be provided to only those districts that are members of both Cooperatives.
If you are only a member of the Title III Cooperative, you may still enroll for free and earn regular
PD hours but not GT hours. Please confirm cooperative membership with your
district before registering.”
“Please note: You must register for the webinar in two places:
Register for the event on the Region 10 Calendar of Events.
Register for the webinar on the Zoom link.
All participants registered on the Region 10 website will receive login information prior to the webinar date.”
