Important Session Information:

Implementing change seems to be an issue that has plagued public education throughout its existence. Greater emphasis on annual progress and maintaining school safety has increased pressure on struggling schools and districts to implement change at a rapid pace. School administrators are often required to implement reform without any training as to why the human brain tends to resist change and the elements that must be present for individuals to make successful transitions. Systems change requires altering human behavior, which cannot be achieved without understanding what individuals need to enable them to consider, attempt, and maintain new practices. Learn the specific obstacles to school reform and concrete strategies administrators can take to effectively lead schools through successful transformations.
