New and Improved!! With the revision of the ELAR TEKS, all Texas students K-12, will be reading and writing poetry. Often, the perception is that poetry is written by “old dead guys’ and is not alive and relevant. This updated session will focus on ways to use content-specific poetry to introduce or summarize content objectives and to extend classroom learning to the library. Participants will have access to current poetry resources to help with collection development and will explore strategies and lessons tying into content area objective.
