The DBQ Project
Introductory Workshop - Do You DBQ?

This Teaching & Learning professional learning opportunity will provide content, material, and strategies to assist educators in meeting the needs of students in their district.

Important Session Information:

The introductory workshop is designed to get teachers new to the DBQ pedagogy excited about the process. It is also reinvigorating for those teachers already steeped in DBQ experience. The day includes an overview of The DBQ Project 6-Step Method where teachers go through all the steps in a lively, interactive session. Special emphasis will be placed on differentiating the process to meet the needs of all learners and utilizing the gradual-release model for document analysis. The goal of the workshop is for all participants to leave enthusiastically ready to implement a DBQ in their classrooms. This workshop is appropriate for Social Studies and ELAR teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators in grades 3-12.
