Active Learning is a total approach for instructing individuals with severe multiple disabilities. It contains assessment, a curriculum, specifically-designed equipment, and instructional strategies that support learners to be active participants in their surroundings. The Active Learning approach that can be used with all learners, but is most effective for those who have significant multiple disabilities and are functioning in the 0-48 month developmental level.
Patty Obrzut, M.S., O.T.R. of the Penrickton Center will be leading this two-day training on Active Learning. The Penrickton Center staff has been authorized by Dr. Nielsen to provide in-service training and seminars on her Active Learning Foundation. The fee for this two-day event is $150.00 for both in and out of region participants.
