This session enables the teacher to give students exciting ways to push ahead, apply their knowledge in new settings, think on their feet, and tackle harder questions. By tailoring questions to individual students, great teachers can meet students where they are and push them in a way that’s directly responsive to what they’ve shown they can already do. 

“The evidence is incontrovertible: Aerobic exercise physically remodels our brains for peak performance.” It is recommended that all kids get at least  60 minutes of moderate activity a day. This session will provide ideas and strategies to get all kids moving throughout the school day in order to keep them healthy, alert and ready to learn when they are in the classroom.  

Adapted PE teachers, physical therapists and occupational therapists from Region10 ESC will collaborate with you on ideas to promote the development of  fine motor skills, gross motor skills, strength,  balance and coordination in students of all abilities levels during classroom activities, recess and PE.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) provides a framework to help all your learners be successful. Come to this hands-on session to experience the UDL guidelines and to learn how digital tools can help your learners find multiple pathways to success.

All participants need to bring a fully-charged laptop or Chromebook to this session. 

Do you strive to help students go beyond rote memorization and repetitive calculations? Many traditional classroom norms and habits actually enable “non-thinking” student behavior. In this session, we’ll begin creating flow in your classroom so you can truly reap the benefits of a thinking classroom.

This is a 2 day session and participants MUST attend BOTH DAYS.

Participants will learn how to gather meaningful data to develop Present Levels of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance (PLAAFP) statements and write measurable annual goals aligned with grade-level academic content for students receiving special education services.
